Pearland city leaders held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the Hickory Slough Sportsplex located at 7600 Hughes Ranch Rd. Saturday (Oct. 3). Mayor Tom Reid, City Councilmembers Keith Ordeneaux, Derrick Reed and Gary Moore, City Manager Clay Pearson, Assistant City Manager Jon Branson, Project Manager Andrea Brinkley, Brazoria County Constable Buck Stevens and Pearland Parks and Recreation Board Members Marjorie Wilcoxson and Ted Mittica and Brian Talbot, president of the United Pearland Youth Soccer League were among the many VIPs guests.
Afterward, soccer players from the Pearland United Youth Soccer Club and a group of lacrosse players from the Pearland Youth Lacrosse League held free clinics and held demonstrations on the new fields. Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the event.
