Convenience store and travel center chain to lease 4,900 square feet of office space in Pearland Town Center
Leadership with the City of Pearland and the Pearland Economic Development Corporation are pleased to announce the successful recruitment of Buc-ee’s, who will relocate parts of its headquarters operations to Pearland.
PEDC began working with Buc-ee’s, the convenience store chain known for its large travel centers throughout Texas, on its office relocation earlier this year. The company’s new offices, located at 11200 Broadway, will occupy approximately 4,900 square feet of lease space in the Pearland Town Center.
“We are excited about our future home in Pearland and the opportunities this will bring,” said Jeff Nadalo, General Counsel of Buc-ee’s. “We look forward to many years of growth within the community.”
Buc-ee’s operates convenience stores and travel centers throughout the Central and Gulf Coast region of Texas. Its travel centers are large stores that typically cover over 60,000 square-feet, with as many as 120 fueling positions. The company opened its first convenience store in Lake Jackson in 1982 and now operates 31 stores within the state.
“The City of Pearland is delighted that such a locally recognized company has chosen Pearland for its partial headquarters location,” stated Pearland Mayor Tom Reid. “I always keep an eye out for their stores when I’m traveling across the state and Buc-ee’s selection of Pearland is a testament to our community’s favorable business climate and quality of life.”
Buc-ee’s plans to complete construction and begin operations at its new Pearland office in early 2016. Approximately 20 employees will work at the new partial headquarters location, providing human resources and legal functions that support its stores across the state.
