The Pearland Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Tom Reid joined Methodist Primary Care Group for a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday (March 3) at the site of the future Pearland Medical Commons, located at 8400 Broadway.
The 46,000 sq. ft. facility is expected to open in early 2016 and will be home to 10 board certified primary care physicians and 30 exam rooms.
“It’s important for our primary care physicians to have an increased presence in the expanding Pearland community,” said Regional Administrator Debby Chambers. “This will also give sicker patients easier access to Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, along with Houston Methodist St. John Hospital in Clear Lake.”
The facility will also offer the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center services, orthopedics and sports medicine on a regular basis, with other specialists occupying the space on a rotating basis.
Imaging equipment, a diagnostics lab, bone density testing and the Houston Methodist Research Institute will also office in the Commons.
Currently, the primary care physicians that are scheduled to join the Houston Methodist Primary Care Group are Drs. Mahendra Jain, Linda Porter-Tucci, Maria Palasi, Martha Gerteisen, Branka Kosarac, Rupali Kadakia, Kenneth Stanley and Kimberly Sims.
